Dr. Julio Hernandez and our entire dental team here at Biscayne Dental & Facial Aesthetics believes in the spirit of the holiday season. Being able to help and uplift people in need brings joy and light to our own lives as well.
To embrace the gift of sharing, Dr. Julio Hernandez, four other dentists, and three hygienists will be leaving for Port-au-Prince, Haiti on December 11th, 2018 to provide free dental services to families in need. In Haiti, they will be seeing 300 impoverished children aged 5 to 15 from December 12th to the 15th. They will be setting up a temporary dental office in a classroom built by the Prodev Foundation. Many of the children who will meet with the Biscayne Dental & Facial Aesthetics team have never been to a dentist before.
This upcoming Haiti trip marks Dr. Julio’s second no-cost dental venture of the year. He joined the Renand Foundation and other dentists in March of 2018 for another trip to Haiti. More than 150 children and a handful of parents in Basin-Bleu benefitted from the free dental services.
When Dr. Julio Hernandez and the rest from his team arrive in Port-au-Prince, a largescale Christmas celebration will be in full swing. A multicity event to benefit thousands of children will delight children with breakfast and visits from musical artists, game stands and food stalls, magicians and exciting entertainers, and, of course, Santa Claus. Old Saint Nick and his elf helpers will be passing out new toys to children. All of the toys have been collected through charitable donations and toy drives throughout the year. Even a small gift of a new doll or toy car can make all the difference in the world for an impoverished child, so it is always so important to see how you can help.
